Proficient in French, English and Arabic, Dr. Al Kuwari spent many years in the diplomatic corps, having served as Ambassador to Lebanon, Syria and France. He was Qatar's representative at the United Nations and the country's delegate to UNESCO between 1970 and 1984. He has also authored a number of books and political and cultural essays in several Arab journals.
