Die Publikation stellt die erste deutschsprachige wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit einzelnen Aspekten des Schaffens von Alfred Schnittke (1934-1998) dar. Alfred Schnittke gilt als einer der bedeutendsten russischen bzw. sowjetischen Komponisten in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Eine internationale Autorenschaft hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, mit dem Band einen nachhaltigen Beitrag zur Schnittke-Forschung zu leisten, die trotz einer erkennbaren Präsenz seiner Werke im Konzertleben und auf dem Tonträgermarkt in vielen Bereichen der Beleuchtung bedarf. Die Beiträge enthalten differenzierte Betrachtungen zu Schnittkes Ästhetik, Werkanalysen und -interpretationen und geben erstmals Einblicke in die Schnittke-Rezeption in der Sowjetunion und in Polen anhand von Originalquellen. Mit dem vorliegenden Band beginnt die Herausgabe einer Reihe "Schnittke-Studien", in der in unregelmäßigen Abständen Forschungsergebnisse zu Alfred Schnittke und dessen Werk veröffentlicht werden. *** This is the first collection of scholarly essays in German to discuss in detail individual aspects of the work of Alfred Schnittke (1934-1998). Schnittke is considered to be one of the most important Russian/Soviet composers of the second half of the 20th century. In this volume, an international team of authors set themselves the task of creating a significant contribution to the study of Schnittke, many aspects of whose work still require elucidation, despite a visible presence in the concert hall and on the recorded music market. The essays take different approaches to Schnittke's aesthetics and the analysis and interpretation of his works, and offers for the first time insights into the reception of his work in the Soviet Union and Poland, based on original sources. This book is the first in a series of "Schnittke-Studien" which will be published at irregular intervals, presenting the findings of new research on Alfred Schnittke and his work.
