Die LBK-Siedlung [2. Hälfte 6. Jt.] von Buchbrunn am Main, Lkr. Kitzingen, stellt mit 2 ha die größte Ausgrabung ihrer Zeit in Nordbayern dar. 1.838 Befunde gehörten u.a. zu 26 Hausgrundrissen in 6 Gruppen und zu 9 Pfostenstrukturen. Die Häuser folgen dem üblichen Schema, aber mit Eigenheiten wie enormen Längen bis 53,4 m, kleinen fundarmen Befunden statt Längsgruben und Anbauten. Das älteste Haus 15 besaß bauliche Besonderheiten und wohl spezielle Funktion. 10.655 Scherben aus 276 Gruben wurden ausgezählt und klassifiziert. 51 Verzierungen aus 66 Gruben wurden mittels Seriation und Korrespondenzanalyse chronologisch ausgewertet, was 5 kontinuierliche Stilphasen ergab. Silices aus 7 Rohmaterialarten gelangten meist fertig in die Siedlung. Für die Häuser mit Stratigraphie und Aktivitätszonen wurde eine Haussseriation erstellt. Neubauten entstanden oft [süd]westlich hangaufwärts, parallel und giebelständig zu einem Vorgänger. Die höchste Funddichte lag in Gruben im Hausinneren vor. Die engsten Keramikbezüge bestehen zum Mittelrhein. Im Vergleich zum Untermain retardierte die LBK in Buchbrunn. Auch 25 Steingeräte und 1.383 Tierreste wurden untersucht. In Northern Bavaria, the Linear Pottery settlement [2nd half 6th mill.] of Buchbrunn on the River Main, distr. Kitzingen, with a size of 2 ha is the largest excavation of its period. Its 1,838 features included 26 houses in 6 groups and 9 post structures. Houses followed the common scheme, but with some peculiarities such as lengths of up to 53.4 m, small features poor in finds instead of long pits, and annexes. The earliest house 15 had architectural anomalies and perhaps a special function. 10,655 sherds from 276 pits were classified. 51 decorations from 66 pits were seriated and subjected to correspondence analysis for chronological purposes, which resulted in 5 continuous stylistic phases. Flint implements of 7 different raw materials were imported in a finished state. Houses were seriated, too, including their stratigraphy and activity zones. New buildings were often placed [south-] westerly uphill of, parallel to and gables in line with predecessors. The highest find density existed in pits inside houses. Closest pottery relations hinted at the Central Rhine area. In comparison to the Lower Main region the Linear Pottery of Buchbrunn was retarded. 25 stone tools and 1,383 animal remains were analysed, too.
