It's the end of term and Nat Walker is in the mood to celebrate with her best friend, Wen. They're heading downtown on their Sliders (skateboard-shaped, electrically powered hoverboards with pop-up handlebars. The Slider was invented by Bejing Bikes top engineer, Liu Lee, using the same principles of motion as the classic hovercraft from the 20th century) for a Slamburger (the ultimate Yanbian beefburger created by top Hong Kong chef, Shen Slam. Shen's signature toppings are legendary, with Slamburger winning Best Hong Kong Burger, as voted by Big Dragon News, for the last five years in a row) when a call comes in on Fizz, Nat's dragon-robot and constant companion. Designed and built by her dead father, Fizz is Nat's link to the past and gateway to the future. He tells her that a mysterious package is waiting for her at the postal depot - a package that contains a crimson petal. This petal will take Nat and Fizz on a long and dangerous journey to face pirates in Borneo and wolves in Mongolia. And worse. But Nat's ultimate challenge will be back at home as she fights to protect her independence and find out more about her dead parents. Was it an accident that killed them, or something more sinister?
