Opis

The crashing waves of the ocean sweep ashore on Yule Island. Mathilda Puro Auo (née Paru) now has finally achieved her dream to be laid to rest at last on the island paradise that she most often talked of, her sweet Yule Island. Mathilda was born on the 5th of February 1929. She married John Peter Kaki Auo sometime in April 1946 at St. Peter's Cathedral. John Peter Kaki Auo was born on the 24th June 1926 and died 9th August 1984 whilst Mathilda Puro Auo was born at old Tsira or Koae Kupuna, now known as Obia Pokina. Mathilda grew up in a happy family where the Catholic Church played an influential role in her life and in the lives of all who lived on the island. She recalled World War Two when she was in grade four and the sound of warplanes firing their artillery over the sky above them. The iron lady of Hohola or otherwise known as "Aba Puksy" or Cyclone" was well known by many.
