French TextDecember 1941, the U.S. enters the war and makes the decision to support the Chinese nationalist Kuomintang, who allied with them against Japan. 1942: President Roosevelt launches Operation Dragon to support the Kuomintang and decides to send the contingent O.S.S. to Tibet; it was this team that was led by Brooke Dolan and Ilya Tolstoy (grandson of the writer). They are the messengers of a letter dated July 3, 1942, which President Roosevelt address to the Dalai Lama, in order to obtain passage and supplies for General Stivell and the Kuomintang.
