This first book from a fantastic illustrator features a feisty, lovable bird with lots of attitude, and a lesson that being small does not mean being incapable Being the smallest bird in all the world is not easy--everything's bigger than Peka-Boo. First he had to crack his big egg--20 times his size--just to get out and see the sun. Then he encountered a big nest and big brothers too. An older relative, Kapecki the kookaburra, is constantly sharing his "wisdom" with Peka-Boo--if only it made any sense at all. But one day, Kapecki can no longer see or hear Peka-Boo, and it makes them both sad. Perhaps Peka-Boo can sing his way to being noticed again. Maybe having a big voice can make Peka-Boo not so small after all. This is an exuberant, visually unique tale of a tough little bird's journey to be recognized.
