North, South, East and West are repro sented in its membership, and every factor of international trade, agri culture, commerce, finance, industry and transportation, both land and water. Its members are leaders of business and enterprise not only in their localities but throughout the nation. They have joined in render ing a disinterested national public service, with no return to themselves except such as may indirectly come from any benefit accruing to the general enterprise of the country, in which they would have the same share as any other citizen. They maintain a staff which studies the economics of international trade, and watches the situation of commerce throughout the world. Once a year the leaders gather for discussion of world conditions at the annual meet ing of the Council, and once a year they assemble with two to three thousand other foreign traders, in all lines of activity, for public discussion at the annual national convention.
