Dragonsoul

Bond a dragon or die. That's the only rule at Skyfell.Thane Rourke arrives at the empire's brutal war college a rootless nobody with no name worth knowing — and a secret even he doesn't understand: he is the reincarnation of the first Dragonlord, the rider who, an age ago, sealed away the Sundered King, a dragon-god that hungers to devour dragonkind and break the bond between dragon and rider forever. As Thane survives the college's lethal trials, his past-life power wakes in pieces, and at the Impression he bonds a dragon of a breed thought extinct for a thousand years — marking him to everyone watching, including the enemy's agents already inside the school. To live long enough to understand what he is, he throws in with three extraordinary, dangerous women: a highborn prodigy who bonds the deadliest dragon of their year and despises him, a scarred silver-haired war-rider who sees what he's hiding, and a fierce rider from an enemy realm with a grudge of her own.
