The book consists of fifteen chapters. Chapters 1 and 2 focus on the theoretical issues of narrative realism research. Chapters three to five review the syntactic semantic studies of narrative real verbs, anti-narrative real verbs and non-narrative real verbs respectively. Chapter 6 sorts out studies related to noun narrative realism. Chapters seven to thirteen focus on studies on counterfactual expressions and counterfactual thinking, mainly including the relationship between counterfactual expressions and counterfactual thinking, the logical mechanism and pragmatic features of counterfactual reasoning, wish expressions and counterfactual thinking, and counterfactual expressions in courtroom arguments. Chapter 14 focuses on the linguistic reasoning mechanism of narrative realism and factuality. Chapter 15 looks ahead to the future development of the study of narrative realism and facticity.
