Hour: Part One

Eleven months since they last had sex. They called it busy. Dr. Mara Venn calls it avoidance with good manners.David Brennan is fifty-one. Laura Brennan is forty-six. Nineteen years, plain rings, a third room that stayed an office. Mara is thirty-nine, and she is not interested in their childhoods. She is interested in the cheek Laura gives him when he wants a mouth. The joint hour is only a booking. The work is separate. Wednesday, David. Thursday, Laura. No reporting. Reporting makes a meeting, and a meeting will make the house quit before anything has happened.Adults only. Explicit consensual sex: a graphic handjob, manual stimulation, breast play, fingering, external anal touch, one lick the therapist stops, and clinical dirty talk. They can say no. They can leave. The lock is on their side of the door.
