Karl Marx

Karl Marx by Achille Loria is a thoughtful and scholarly study of the life, philosophy, and economic theories of one of history's most influential thinkers. Written by the renowned Italian political economist and sociologist, this book seeks to provide a concise yet profound analysis of Marx's doctrines within the broader context of economic science and social development. Structured into five rich chapters, preceded by a foreword, Loria approaches Marx's work not simply as a political ideologue, but as a rigorous economist whose scientific socialism grew from historical materialism. Loria unpacks the theoretical foundations of Marx's thought, his critique of capitalism, the labor theory of value, surplus value, and class struggle-all while evaluating them through a comparative lens with classical economics and contemporary thought. Loria is notably critical yet respectful, providing insight into both the strengths and limitations of Marx's conclusions. This work is particularly valuable for readers seeking to understand Marx not just as a revolutionary, but as a systematic theorist embedded in a historical trajectory of economic development. Whether youre a student of economics, politics, history, or philosophy, Karl Marx by Achille Loria offers a compact yet intellectually rich portrait of Marxs intellectual legacy and its impact on the modern world.
