Keys on Friday

Every home has a story. Zuri Adisa spends her days helping strangers find theirs, while she remains perfectly, professionally adrift. As a high-achieving real estate agent in a city that never stops moving, Zuri has mastered the art of the sale. She knows how to stage a room, how to secure a closing, and—most importantly—how to keep her own life packed neatly away in a sterile, white-walled apartment. She views homes as assets and life as a series of transitions, avoiding any decision that might make her "e;stuck."e;But when a series of life-changing encounters with a stubborn mentor, a grounded photographer, and a host of clients at major crossroads forces her to look past the floor plans and square footage, Zuri's carefully constructed world begins to shift. As her professional life reaches its peak, she is faced with an uncomfortable reality: she has spent years handing over keys to others while never bothering to unlock her own door.Keys on Friday is a warm, hopeful, and witty journey about the difference between finding a place to live and finding a place to belong. It is a story for anyone who has ever felt like they were waiting for their real life to begin, reminding us that sometimes the hardest thing to find is the place where you are allowed to stay.
