Napoleon and the monkey

The first cigarette ended and left behind a vast world that he had only reached in a dream. A large lake of water appeared in the middle of it, reflecting the purple color in the sky and breaking it into degrees, exuding that fragrant smell. He approached its edge and scooped a small scoop of it with the palm of his hand. He felt the water in his hand colder than usual, heavier than the flowing water, and the smell clung to his palm.
