Thirty Is Old

When Morrow Fever swept the globe, it didn't just ravage bodies—it shattered the social contract. Now, in the aftermath of a pandemic that prioritized survival based on age, a new order has risen. The youth, once forgotten, are now the architects of the new world. But this stability comes at a brutal price: a shifting, deadly threshold that determines who is essential enough to live and who is expendable enough to die.Mara Venn, a young administrator at a central treatment facility, has spent her life believing the revolution's promise of a fairer future. But as she navigates a system that keeps the cure scarce to maintain political control, she faces an impossible choice. Her partner, Jonas, is a charismatic architect of this age-based regime, convinced that their generation must do whatever it takes to secure its place. As the medical threshold ruthlessly drops—moving from forty-five, to forty, to thirty-five—Mara discovers the devastating truth: the shortage is a lie, a tool of power rather than a medical necessity. As her twenty-ninth birthday approaches, Mara faces the ultimate question: if you are the one who decides who deserves tomorrow, can you ever truly be the hero of your own story? From the halls of power to the silent, desperate wards of the hospitals, THIRTY IS OLD is a chilling, human exploration of grief, political rot, and the thin line between survival and cruelty. When the cure becomes a weapon, one generation must decide if it is willing to consume its own history to save itself.
