There are hundreds of books on the market that will help you to plan, assess, organise and evaluate, but very few tell you about the real problems teachers face; problems that have very little to do with how they perform under observation or how they have developed their teaching portfolio. How would you cope with a wasp in the classroom, organising a field trip or difficult relationships with colleagues? This book looks at what it can be like to be a teacher as a person, not just another cog in the education machine. In short, this book tells you the truth about day-to-day teaching. Rather than focus on the academic side of teaching life, it looks to the personal side, and asks real teachers how they feel about their profession. More than that, it will tell you what no one else does - ninety-nine very good reasons why not to teach!
