'WIND-SOWN SEEDS,' a trilogy

Book One: CHANTELLE'S CONFESSION:

When retired investigative journalist, Daniel Fogarty, delivers his mother to the Cedar Narrows Long-Term Care Facility, he encounters a resident with early stages of dementia. The woman's story appeals to Fogarty, and he's encouraged to investigate her story, with the question, "Do dementia patients dream what they remember, or what they can no longer retrieve?"

Fogarty accepts the challenge, and what a challenge it becomes. Through interviews, online research, and a journal, the woman's past emerges, leading him to more complicated events that include Toronto's Yorkville in the 1960s, foster homes in Sudbury, and a convent.

A horrific event affects the memory of another resident with amnesia, that complicates Fogarty's research, leading him through a rabbit warren of historical events, DNA confusions, and family disconnects, causing him to question confusions in his own life.

To add to his confusion, a mystery referred to as the Legend of Cedar Narrows, emerges, a conglomeration of myths, gossip and mystery, that surrounds the location of the long-term care home and the facility's administrator.

The story is told by characters in their own voices, sometimes offering conflicting personal responses to events.
