Coffee Break

For the Google Workspace admin replacing Meet, Chat, and Spaces with Teams

Your users are moving to Microsoft Teams, and the migration is not "just a different UI." Calendar rewrites, dead Meet links, Audio Conferencing licensing, app permission policies, and meeting policies all break in week one if you do not plan for them.

Coffee Break: Microsoft Teams for Google Workspace Admins covers the collaboration surface: the honest Meet-vs-Teams capability matrix, migration tooling and the chat-history decision, meeting-link rewriting, channel strategy, Teams Phone and Teams Rooms, and the governance baseline. Book 6 of the 10-book Coffee Break Migrations series.

• Migrate calendar items and fix the dead Meet links they carry, before a board member hits one
• Decide what happens to Google Chat history, and design channels for migrated teams
• Configure a five-policy meeting baseline, plus messaging and app policies, that match your security posture
• Plan PSTN and Teams Phone migration, Teams Rooms hardware, and external access
• Avoid the lobby and presenter defaults that confuse external guests
