Every family has a story-and every child has a place within it.

Families can be big or small, close together or spread far apart. They may include parents, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other people whose lives and relationships connect one generation to the next. But for a child, understanding exactly how everyone fits together can sometimes be confusing.

Family Tree introduces young readers to the idea of generations and family relationships in a warm, child-friendly way. By exploring the connections between relatives, children can begin to understand not only who the people in their family are, but how those people are connected to one another-and ultimately, to them.

As children discover the branches of a family tree, they also discover something important about themselves: they are part of a story that began before they were born.

It provides an opportunity for children to ask questions about the people who came before them, learn family stories, recognize different generations, and better understand their own place within their family.
