Fisher Cat

A gentle bedtime adventure for little night owls

Ben the cat loves fishing - and he loves it best late at night.

With a cheese sandwich wrapped in his green handkerchief and a flask of warm milk in his old leather bag, Ben steps out into the dark. His little red boat is waiting. Together they drift across the lake, dancing between the stars and their reflections, while the Moon winks from behind the clouds and bats skim past his whiskers.

But something is changing. The stars vanish from the water. The Moon slips away. Silence creeps in...

Then the first raindrop falls.

Fisher Cat is a quiet, soothing picture book about a night on the water, the beauty of rain, and the comfort of coming home. Every page is hand-drawn in coloured pencil by author-illustrator Oksana Trofymuk - from starry skies and silver fish to raindrops bouncing on the lake and a crackling fireplace at the end of the night.

Perfect for:

• Bedtime stories for children aged 3-7
• Little ones who love cats, boats and the night sky
• Families who treasure calm, slow stories over loud ones
• Fans of classic, illustration-led picture books

With its lullaby rhythm and reassuring ending, Fisher Cat makes the dark feel cosy and the rain feel like a song. Read it together, then tuck in - Ben will be back on the lake another night.
