GOLDEN WING (978-981-91016-0-3)
During a camping trip in a remote desert canyon, Grandpa Maniyan and seven-year-old Samar encounter a terrifying sandstorm. As fierce winds batter their tent, they hear a desperate cry outside. Through the swirling dust, Samar spots a magnificent golden-brown eagle crashing against the rocks.
At dawn, they discover the mighty bird half-buried in sand, its wings damaged and body badly wounded. Determined to save the helpless creature, they gently carry it into their tent. Maniyan carefully treats its injuries with desert herbs and aloe, while Samar offers water, food and comforting words.
Initially frightened and refusing food, the proud eagle slowly begins to trust them. After two days of patient care, it finally eats from Samar's hand. By the third morning, its strength returns, and it stands proudly with wings outstretched.
Realising that the eagle belongs in the open sky, Maniyan and Samar carry it to the highest canyon rim. With an emotional farewell, Samar whispers, "Fly, king!"
The eagle launches into the air, briefly falters, then catches a powerful updraft and soars majestically above the canyon.
Suddenly, it circles back, sweeping low over Samar before releasing a mysterious golden feather. Samar catches the shimmering gift, amazed by its magical glow.
As the eagle disappears into the clouds, Maniyan smiles and says, "Kindness is never forgotten."
Back at camp, Samar treasures the golden feather, a lasting reminder of their extraordinary friendship.
True kindness expects nothing in return, yet leaves behind treasures more precious than gold.
