The machine in the basement hums all night. Kevin has started standing in front of it at 2:00 AM, asking questions it will never answer.

Somebody leaked the files. Now the world knows cloning is real. A woman in a charcoal suit has arrived with a patent, a court order, and everything Kevin ever dreamed his invention could do.

She's right about the potential. Kevin almost says yes.

Then K2 tells him which word she used for the clones.

You can't punch a patent or outrun a court order. And when a corporation claims legal ownership of the idea of building a person, seven boys who came out of a machine are left with a question nobody can answer.
