Love, Developed

He never asked to be seen. She came home to stop performing.

Elena Ruiz had a gallery career in Atlanta - until the man who promised her a solo exhibition gave her slot to someone else and stopped calling. Broke and burned out, she drives home to Palmetto Cove, the tiny Florida Gulf town she swore she had outgrown.

Jonah Cole fixes boats at the marina. He says little, shows up early, and leaves before anyone can thank him. What Elena doesn't know - what nobody in town knows - is that for twelve years Jonah has been Palmetto Cove's anonymous good neighbor: the repaired roof, the quietly paid bill, the ride that simply appeared.

Then Elena's camera catches him alone at dawn, and she becomes determined to understand the quiet man everyone trusts and no one really knows. He is just as determined to stay unseen.

A story about the difference between showing off and showing up - and the woman who made a quiet man want to be known.

Tropes: quiet hero, coming home, small-town secrets, found family, slow burn
