Many Suspects

The Knoxville Police Department is faced with an unsettling murder. The victim, Luther Jefferson, was a linebacker for the Tennessee Titans who had extraordinary talent, what some would call can't-miss Hall of Fame skills. Yet once he reached the pros, he squandered his physical talents and was out of the National Football League within a very short period of time. Why would he do that and why would someone angrily kill him?
As they always do when investigating a homicide, the detectives assigned to the case create a credible suspects list. However, they are very much surprised at the number of viable suspects who deserve to be included on this list. Why so many? Are they dealing with one murderer or is this a case of collusion? Can the detectives identify the murderer or murderers? And, if so, can they find sufficient evidence to make the necessary arrests?
