"Mindgarden Volume II" is a continuingreflection of life's ultimate journeys by a poetwho is not afraid to look candidly at some ofthe most troubling experiences humansencounter throughout their lifetimes. Thesecond in the seven-volume Mindgardenseries, Paul A. Galloway contemplates thehuman voyage through some of life's mosttragic events: the pain of the unexpecteddeath of a loved one, the disappointment ofbroken promises, the fear of living inincarceration, and the sting of abandonmentby those once trusted. Galloway openlyshares the darkness of these times, the evilwitnessed, the pain experienced, and the newhope leading to recovery. Galloway warns that "your thoughts, yourdeeds (are) all accountable" and encourages usto "catch the shadow of the past while you stillcan." His poems illustrate that the injuredhuman spirit can recover, leading toenlightenment, compassion, and forgiveness. In "The Love You Give," Galloway says, "Ourbody is one/As our spirit is whole/Now it'stime to move on/To God's loving arms' hold." "Mindgarden Volume II" sheds light on life'sdarkest corners, experiences that, once fullyfelt, can result in a new world of personal, mental, and spiritual growth.
