The Missoni universe collected in one grand monograph published to coincide with the venerable label's sixtieth anniversary. This volume documents the past and the multifaceted present of a signature Italian brand that is among the oldest and most international of those labels that turned "made in Italy" into an iconic catchphrase of fashion and style. Missoni marks its sixtieth year in 2013 and is known worldwide for having transformed the sweater into a luxurious, exclusive object with chromatic tones, plush textures, and decorative modern yet abstract styling with waves, zigzags, meanders, and other signature patterns. Missoni is also known for its spirited collaborations with great photographers, illustrators, historians, connoisseurs, artists, writers, journalists, and fashion editors of the day. Many of the world's greatest contemporary talents have contributed to Missoni designs, including Antonio Lopez, Diana Vreeland, Anna Piaggi, Enzo Biagi, Tonino Guerra, Brunetta, Maria Pezzi, and many others. The book contains previously unpublished interviews with Ottavio and Rosita Missoni and contributions by international experts in numerous fields such as art, fashion, and aesthetics.
