Lynn Sanders has secrets. A lifetime of them. For starters? Lynn Sanders isn't her real name. Sixteen years ago, she arrived in Shadow Pass as a teen runaway. Thanks to a couple of kind strangers she built a new life for herself. Even if that new life was built on a shaky foundation.

Sheriff Trent Evans knows Lynn came to the Pass to hide, but after so many years and all of the resources of the Rocks River Sheriff's Office at his disposal, he's no closer to knowing Lynn's true story now than he was at seventeen. Getting involved comes at a steep price, threatening the security of her secret life and relationships with the people who sacrificed to save her.

Soon, Lynn is in over her head and Trent is the only one she can count on. Will relying on him blur the lines of the friendship they've worked so hard to protect? And how much of her true self must she reveal in order to protect a stranger? She trusts Trent with her life, but with her secrets? That's something else entirely.
