This novel, together with its characters, is a fictional story about the era the author grew up in. Uncle Earl's Okie accent, and his comical antics, provide the balance needed for the turmoil in the story. World war 11, the taboo about sex, and lyrics from songs of that era, will surely have a nostalgic effect on many people.
