Ponticas; Ou, Cartas Escriptas Do Ponto Xenio

Ponticas; Ou, Cartas Escriptas Do Ponto Xenio presents a collection of letters written by the renowned Roman poet Ovid during his exile in Tomis, a city located on the edge of the Black Sea (Pontus Euxinus). Written in Portuguese, this historical edition offers a window into Ovid's personal reflections, struggles, and observations from his time away from Rome. Through these letters, readers gain insight into the poet's emotional state, his interactions with the local population, and his enduring longing for his homeland.

This edition provides valuable context for understanding Ovid's later works and the impact of his exile on his literary output. Scholars and enthusiasts of classical literature will find this a compelling and essential addition to their collections. The letters, originally composed in Latin, are presented here in Portuguese, maintaining the historical integrity of the work.
