Princess Rose And The Wildewoods

Princess Rose and her dog, Sammy, live in the magical Kingdom of Adorable. Here, animals talk. Princess Rose, a strong-minded girl, is cross that she cannot be a knight. She can ride a horse and shoot arrows like the boys. But they told her she was a girl and so couldn't possibly be brave.

Her dog, Sammy, chases a rabbit and accidentally enters the Wildewoods. He is arrested by the Yellow Jacket army (all girls) for crossing the border without a permit. Princess Rose tries to find him. She steps into the Mystic Marsh and enters the Wildewoods. She had been warned that bad magic lurks in the Wildewoods. Just like 'Alice in Wonderland', she finds good magic and shrinks to the size of butterflies and bees. There she meets Flower-fairies. They look like girls with butterfly wings. Misty, the blue fairy, tends 'Love-In-A -Mist' flowers. Blossom, the orange-and-black fairy, tends orange blossom flowers. She meets Prince Billy-Bee, who rescues her from the Yellow Jacket army. She goes to the animal Convention where Sammy and the rabbit are to be sentenced for trespassing. Princess Rose is horrified and confronts King-Bee. Since she is a princess, Sammy is pardoned. Queen-Bee (who rules the Bees) invites her to a banquet in the Honey Hive.

Billy-Bee takes her on a tour of the Honey Hive. He shows the princess how baby Bees in the Honey-comb nursery, are fed by Worker Bees. Special Princess babies are given special food. One will be Billy-Bee's Bride and the next Queen. He has no choice. Princess Rose doesn't like that idea for herself. She wants to choose her own husband. She meets the Worker-Bees bringing in nectar and pollen from the flowers in Wildewoods. Billy Bee shows her his aero-drone pulled by unicorns. He takes her on a ride in the sky. They see dragons nearby. Bees fear the dragons will destroy their fruit trees. If there are no trees, there are no flowers for the Bees. They might die. Billy-Bee and the princess then fly on unicorns to get closer to spy on the dragons, and bring news to the Hive. From the air, they see a battle between knights of Adorable and dragons breathing fire. She sees her father, the King, and the knights returning with serious injuries. The Castle of Adorable needs to know of their return. She says goodbye to the Bees and the Flower-fairies. She crosses the Mystic Marsh, returns to normal size, and goes back to her castle in Adorable. She knows there is good magic in the Wildewoods. She proves she is very brave. Maybe she could be a knight?
