Money, power, marriage, friendship, health, sleep, jealousy, war, peace, eternity: here is the ancient wisdom of Solomon in the 21st-century language of the Scottish patter. Full-to-the-brim with pithy wisdom, this expressive book will appeal to all who enjoy the richness of the Scots tongue. Injecting life into these ancient wise words, Jamie Stuart's language of the people connects the down-to-earth Scots character with the practical relevance today of the wisdom of Solomon. A committed Christian, Jamie is 'fair chuffed' to follow up A Glasgow Bible with Proverbs in the Patter, his own translation of sayings from the Book of Proverbs into modern Scots. "The clitter-clatters o a clishmaclaver are gey tasty, an are guzzled ower in a wanner. They wha howk a sheuch may tummle intae it theirsels; an they wha tak tae rollin stanes may hiv them stottin aboot their ain heids." Proverbs 26: 22, 27
