Event-based systems have been generating considerableinterest in academia and industry due to the growingpopularity of information-driven applications.Publish/subscribe middleware provides a platformwhich is well suited to the implementation ofevent-based systems. These unfold their strengthparticularly in dynamic scenarios, where usagepatterns and system parameters may changeunexpectedly. Most of today's publish/subscribesystems are, however, rather static and requiremanual intervention in order to adapt them tochanging conditions.
