Severe malaria is a leading parasitic cause of mortality among humans, accounting for nearly 3 million annual deaths globally. As shown in different studies across Africa, morbidity pattern varies according to factors like age, geographic location and population genetics. This book describes the presentation of severe malaria at the time of admission, and the prevalence and determinants of clinical symptoms in hospitalized Ghanaian children.
