§In autumn 2015, after the restoration and expansion of two theatre venues lasting several years, the group of buildings of the Bühnen der Stadt Köln will open once again. The city's artistic and intellectual centre, constructed between 1954 and 1962 after plans by the architect Wilhelm Riphahn (1889-1963), quickly became an icon of post-war architecture. With multiple essays and the latest and historical images, the book documents the history of the buildings and their artistic glory days.
