This study will examine student perceptions of§computer-mediated communications (CMC) tools and how§their perceptions may assist the institutions§decisions to select and acquire those technologies. §This study may help administrators make more informed§decisions regarding learning technology purchases§that are more closely aligned with the organizations§strategic direction and their student-centric§commitments. The value of investment in these§systems can only be derived form the use they receive§by students? as well as faculty. §§The results of this study may be beneficial to§administrators at the university level when making§decisions about technologies that may affect the§teaching/learning process. Further, may help guide§decisions regarding where to commit resources§(technology, monetary, labor, etc.) to implement and§maintain those systems. Moreover, it may encourage§concentrating the universities efforts on a smaller§number of technologies and training programs to§develop faculty and student skills in the use of§computer-mediated communication technologies within§the university setting.
