For nine hundred years, the dragons have been gone. And the islands have never fallen.

Twenty-two-year-old Taren Vale has spent his life flying between the floating islands of Aerath on the back of Kesh, his fiercely loyal Avarin. He knows the winds, the trade routes and the dangers of the open sky better than most.
