The Raid

A raid without evidence. A family pushed to the breaking point. A search for the truth that could turn deadly.

When DEA agents descend on Jake Grummond's Colorado dairy in the early hours of an August morning, they expect to uncover drugs. Instead, they find nothing-and leave devastation behind.

Jake's livelihood is thrown into jeopardy, his workers are caught in the fallout, and his wife is left deeply traumatized by the ordeal. With little help from the legal system and no satisfactory explanation for why his dairy was targeted, Jake becomes determined to discover who falsely implicated him and why.

County Sheriff C.W. Blakenship has questions of his own. As he investigates the circumstances surrounding the disastrous raid, his pursuit of the truth repeatedly intersects with Jake's increasingly personal search for justice. Neither man fully trusts the other, yet both are being drawn toward the same dangerous answers.

Set against the rugged landscape of Colorado's Western Slope, The Raid: More Than a Body Ought to Bear is a mystery thriller about justice, government power, family, and the consequences unleashed when an accusation turns innocent lives upside down.
