The Second Realm

A Christian supernatural thriller set largely in Vatican City, opening on the death of a pope and the conclave that follows. As the conclave's outcome ripples outward, Sean and Luis are stripped of their jobs and drawn deeper into spiritual conflict, eventually paying a brutal physical price (imprisonment, torture, and crucifixion-style execution staged by an unholy alliance of corrupted religious leaders) as the forces of darkness seem to triumph publicly while a hidden spiritual battle for the Church and for souls unfolds beneath the surface.
