What if the world has been speaking all along?

The Witness Papers is a collection of theological essays exploring the triune God, creation, humanity, Scripture, freedom, suffering, gratitude, and the world as readable witness.

Richard Hernandez begins with a simple claim: the world is not silent. Creation declares. Humanity images. The Fall fractures. Christ reveals and restores. The Spirit indwells. Scripture speaks. Ordinary gifts can be received with thanksgiving without being mistaken for the Giver.

From the image of God and the relationship between faith and science to biblical interpretation, Enoch, human freedom, suffering, and the question of why God created at all, these papers examine what happens when Christians take seriously what Scripture says about God's nearness to His creation-and what happens when the witness contradicts the conclusions we would rather keep.

This is not an argument that creation is God, humanity is divine, or every human instinct is trustworthy. The distinctions matter. But distinction does not require abandonment, and Christian theology does not need to make God distant in order to keep Him holy.

The witness is found in creation, in human personhood, in Scripture, and finally in Jesus Christ.

The question is not merely whether the evidence is there.

The question is what we will do when we see where it points.
