Many students lose ACT English and Reading points even when they know the grammar rule or understand the passage. The problem is often not a lack of knowledge. It is knowing what the question is testing, finding the evidence that controls the answer, and rejecting choices that sound reasonable but do not fully work.

This book teaches that process.

ACT English questions are decided by grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, organization, clarity, and relevance. ACT Reading questions are decided by what the passage states, supports, implies, and accomplishes. In both sections, the correct answer must be supported by the text.

That makes every question a decision that can be studied. One answer works. The other three fail for identifiable reasons. A wrong answer may be too broad, only partly true, unsupported, grammatically incorrect, unnecessary, or inconsistent with the surrounding sentence or passage.

The explanations in this book do more than identify the correct choice. They examine all four answers, show which rule or evidence controls the question, and explain exactly why each wrong answer fails. Over time, students begin to recognize the same wrong-answer designs when they appear in new questions.

The book begins with a diagnostic test, then moves through focused instruction, guided practice, mixed question sets, timed sections, and five full practice tests. This progression helps students build accuracy first and then apply the same methods under real test conditions.

Students are also taught to review missed questions by cause, not only by number. That makes practice more useful because it reveals whether points are being lost through a grammar weakness, a reading error, a rushed decision, or a failure to eliminate an attractive wrong answer.
