Prólogo
Em algum tempo no passado não muito distante, um menino, Abayomi, assim chamado pelo seu pai e família, testemunha o massacre de muitos guerreiros da sua tribo africana, inclusive de seu próprio pai, o chefe da tribo, e de sua mãe, considerada a rainha pelas outras mulheres, e é levado por outros negros, comandados por brancos, para a costa oeste africana onde é escravizado por um comerciante que lhe dá alguns ensinamentos para que o garoto possa servir melhor aos seus propósitos.
Não depois de muito tempo este comerciante de escravos resolve vender o menino que agora atende pelo nome de Pretinho, e este, a contra gosto é embarcado e trazido para as Américas. Pela ajuda dos deuses africanos sobreviveu à travessia e nos conta a sua história que aqui chamamos de "Uma estória sem pé e sem cabeça" porque a história dele é a minha, é sua, e pode ser a história de todo aquele que se compadece da nossa história: descendentes dos povos africanos...

Prologue
At some time in the not-too-distant past, a boy, Abayomi, so named by his father and family, witnesses the massacre of many warriors from his African tribe, including his own father, the chief of the tribe, and his mother, considered the queen by the other women and is taken by other blacks, commanded by whites, to the West African coast where he is enslaved by a merchant who gives him some teachings so that the boy can better serve his purposes. Not long after, this slave trader decides to sell the boy who now goes by the name of Pretinho, and this one, reluctantly, is shipped and brought to the Americas. With the help of the African gods, he survived the crossing and tells us his story, which we call here "A story without a foot and without a head" because his story is mine, it is yours, and it can be the story of everyone who feels sorry for our history: descendants of African peoples...
