Volume Three: Mountains and Waters Far and Near paints the landscapes and customs of Chongqing, while Volume Four: Literary Echoes of Yuzhou echoes with the voices of fellow writers and friends.

《长江在此漩流》将作者近年来有关重庆的散文作品结集成册，蕴含着作者生长于斯的生命密码。《卷一长江那些事》，从七千年前长江上第一艘独木舟的问世，到加深独木舟、木板船、楼船、机器船的演变发展过程，以及人和船的关系，作了回望与探索。对"中国船王"卢作孚以及长江上第一代"大引水"的传奇人生作了描述。
《卷二 岸的旋律》，以较多篇幅对临江而居的人们的生活状况给予了关注和体察。《卷三 高山远水》，对重庆的地貌、山川、人伦风习作了描画。
《卷四渝州文咏》，多为作者与文友间的文化交流、唱和。文集多层面地勾勒出重庆这座现代的、梦幻的、多元的、始终流动着的带有码头属性的城市形象。
