Mr Moran contends that we ought to do far better with politics and economics in the 21st century than we did in the 20th. However, there is room for opinions and discussion about what form these improvements should take. Furthermore, one size does not fit all, regardless of history or culture. His favourite example is Marshal Tito. We did not need him in the UK. They needed him in the former Yugoslavia. Whatever form these changes take we will need to design and execute legislation in order to implement them. There is no opinion, there is no culture, there is no history, which means that choosing the wrong people for the wrong reason is a better idea. There is no shortage of books about politics and economics. Mr Moran contends that they are irrelevant while we do not have the machinery to implement any of them. There is no shortage of people who complain about bureaucracy. There is a shortage of people who analyse the causes and suggest solutions. This book is intended to make a start on redressing that balance.
