The Pieces, now submitted to the Public, are the Effusions of Fancy, while nothing more interesting demanded my attention, and would probably never have met the eye of the Public, had it not been by desire of some Friends, to whose perusal they where occasionally submitted. Should they meet with a favourable reception, it will gratify me much; but, as there is a possibility they may not, I shall ever, at least, have this consolation, that my pen has not been industrious in disturbing the Peace, or corrupting the Moral, of Society.
