The radionuclides of iodine have the greatest versatility in labelling both hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds that are used in biology and medicine. The multiple techniques for iodination and the clinical use of iodinated products have made possible the present status of the development of diagnostic nuclear medicine. A final part presents material for additional reading, being a supplement to the references that are cited at the end of each chapter. A clear and comprehensive index rounds off the work.
