Born to Scottish immigrants, Robert Skinner was raised in the hills of southern Ohio during the Great Depression. When Robert becomes a young man his passage into adulthood is tested when his father dies and Pearl Harbor is bombed. After these two life altering changes, Robert decides to serve in the Atlantic during World War II. Despite the hardships presented by such momentous times, Robert draws upon the love of his family to take it all on with humor and grace.
