The inns reviewed in the book may have been coaching inns and have definitely been a part of the history of the village or town in which they are located for many, many years. All of the inns reviewed have been visited by a Travel Publishing researcher and all serve food and drink. Many also offer the visitor accommodation. The Hidden Inns of Wales contains 10 chapters - Pembrokeshire & Cardiganshire, Carmathaenshire, Ceredigion, Gwent & Monmouthshire, Glamorgan, Powys, Denbighshire, Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey. There is an informative introductory narrative in each chapter containing historical facts, important landmarks and places to visit. A full page is devoted to each pub or inn and contains an attractive line-drawing, full name, address and telephone number, directions on how to get there, descriptive narrative and a handy summary of opening hours, food served, credit cards accepted, accommodation provided, other facilities offered, entertainment as well as local places of interest and local activities available. The attractive cover design is based on photographs of the White Horse Inn, Capel Garmon, Conwy, the Griffin Inn, Llysen, Powys and the Tanat Valley Hotel, Llangwnog, Powys.
