Snorting coke or throwing up after launching into the hospitality a little too enthusiastically, Mick Wall spent much of the eighties sprawled in Lear jets with the likes of big-haired rock stars like Jon Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne, or having young upstarts such as Lars Ullrich sleeping over on his settee. He was Kerrang!'s star writer, and the decade passed with plenty of drugs and 'rock chicks', a reasonable amount of cash, but very little dignity. Now a father of three, trying to reconcile a love of thrash metal, heavy rock and white noise with doing the washing up and taking the kids to school, Mick looks back on the debauched eighties with a degree of fondness and plenty of regret. [Title to come] is full of the rock scribe's stories behind the scenes; it's a heavy metal Cider With Roadies or Apathy for the Devil.
