Parallel zum Wiedererstarken von Religion im öffentlichen Raum formiert sich auch ein neuer Atheismus. Beide Entwicklungen führen zu einer Renaissance der Religionskritik. In Auseinandersetzung mit heutigen Formen des Atheismus soll das komplexe Verhältnis von christlichem Glauben und Religionskritik untersucht werden. Komplex ist dieses Verhältnis zum einen, weil der Begriff der Religionskritik eine mehrfache Bedeutung hat, zum anderen, weil der biblische Gottesglaube selbst ein religionskritisches Potential hat. Gottesglaube und Religionskritik stehen sich also nicht einfach als zwei verschiedene Größen gegenüber hier der Glaube, dort die Kritik , sondern sie durchdringen sich auf unterschiedliche Weise. Darum kann auch die Auseinandersetzung mit heutigen Formen von Religionskritik oder den neuen Spielarten von Atheismus nicht nach einem einfachen Schema von Frage und Antwort geführt werden, sondern nur in einem Wechselspiel von unterschiedlichen Formen der Kritik von Religion. [Faith of God and Criticism of Religion]At the same time as religion in the public sphere is regaining strength, a new Atheism is also emerging. Both developments lead to a renaissance of Religious Criticism. The complex relationship between the Christian faith and Religious Criticism is examined in analysis of current forms of Atheism. This relationship is complex, because the term of Religious Criticism has multiple meanings, and also because the biblical faith in God itself is potentially critical of religion. Faith in God and Religious Criticism are not opposed to one another as two different entities faith on one, criticism on the other side. Instead, they pervade each other in different ways. Thus, the analysis of current forms of Religious Criticism or new varieties of Atheism cannot be undertaken according to the simple scheme of question and answer, but only as an interaction of various kinds of criticism of religion.
