All senses must get into the act - mit happenings oder sit-ins setzte die Protestbewegung von 1968 vorrangig auf performative Mittel. Doch die Aktion vermochte auch für das Sehen zu sensibilisieren. Die Beweglichkeit und Spontaneität des Auges kann als eine Entdeckung aus dem Geist des Aktionismus dieser Jahre betrachtet werden und stellt eine originelle Episode in der Ideengeschichte der Wissenschaft vom Bild dar. In dieser Entdeckung des Auges lag nicht zuletzt ein emanzipatorischer Anspruch. Er äußerte sich prägnant im Film und der Filmtheorie um 1970.
